Interview Bio

We’re hanging out before soundcheck. Jake is sitting back with his bass, playing a few lines while we talk. No rush, no stress — just calm and comfortable, like he’s done this a hundred times.

“I started on violin,” he says, fingers still moving across the strings. “But when I picked up the bass, it just made sense.”

There’s no big performance in how he talks about it — just someone who clearly loves what he does. His playing says enough anyway. Known for tight, groove-heavy lines and solos that cut through without trying too hard, he’s found a sound that’s all his own.

“Music always felt natural to me,” he says. “My fam are all musicians.”
He shrugs like that explains everything — and it kind of does.

“I like making music that grooves — funky and fun, ya know,” he adds.
He plays mostly R&B, jazz, and funk — stuff with feel, with space. You can tell he cares about the pocket as much as the spotlight.

“The bass is just fun,” he says, laughing a little. “It’s taken me to so many different places, and I can't seem to get enough haha.”

Whats Next

“I’m finishing an EP at the moment — hopefully an album next year,” he says, casually.

There’s a lot of local support behind him, and things are starting to build.

“I wanna travel more, connect with more artists, teach more too.”

He says it like a plan, not a dream. And with the way he’s moving — it’s definitely happening.
